What an EICR does
An Electrical Installation Condition Report assesses the condition of the fixed electrical installation at the time of inspection. It identifies observations and recommends remedial work where required.
Before the inspection
Provide clear access to the consumer unit and rooms, identify sensitive equipment, ensure PAYG meters have credit and tell us about known faults or areas that cannot be isolated.
For landlords and property buyers
Reports can support rental, insurance and purchase decisions, but the scope and required frequency depend on the property and circumstances. Ask for the correct inspection before booking.
